Reward for Observance

There was a widow who had a synagogue in her neighborhood. Every day she would come and pray in the Bet Midrash of Rabbi Yohanan. He said to her, “My daughter is there no synagogue in your neighborhood?” She said to him, “Don’t I get a reward for the distance I walk?” (B. Sotah 22.)
