Encounter with Rabbi Yehudah Nasia

Rabbi Yannai was walking, leaning on the shoulder of his servant Rabbi Simlai, and Rabbi Yehudah Nasia came towards them. Rabbi Simlai said to Rabbi Yannai, “The man coming to greet us is distinguished and his cloak is distinguished.” When he reached them, Rabbi Yannai felt his cloak and said to him, “It is like a sack.” [Rabbi Yehudah Nasia asks Rabbi Yannai a question about the laws of inheritance and challenges Rabbi Yannai’s answer, to which Rabbi Yannai responds] Rabbi Yannai said to his servant, “Pull me away from here. This one does not want to learn.”  (B. Baba Batra 111)
